We have observed that when we go for membership drive, we have found that some of the Psychiatrists of Assam are not fully aware regarding application process for IPS ASB membership. To remove the confusion, we have given here some basic idea regarding rules and regulation related to IPS ASB membership. Like IPS parent body, currently there are four categories of members in IPS, Assam State Branch- Life Fellow (LF), Life Ordinary Member (LOM), Life Associate Member (LAM) and Life Associate Ordinary Member (LAOM). Two other categories of membership were existed earlier which are no longer exist -- Ordinary Member (OM) and Associate Ordinary Member (AOM)
One needs to be a member of IPS (parent body), before applying for State Body membership.
| LOM: | MBBS or PGT (MD/ DPM Student) or MD/ Diploma passed candidates |
| LOAM: | Degree / Diploma in Allied subjects |
| LF: | After completion of 5yrs as LOM |
| LAM: | After completion of 5 yrs as LOAM |
| DLF: | (1) After completion of 5 yrs as Member of IPS (parent body) Plus (2) Completion of 5 yrs after PG Degree/ Diploma |
Please Note: existing Ordinary Members (OM) are expected to upgrade to Direct LF (DLF) because this category of membership is no longer exists.
